Your data stays on your PC — unless you tell it to leave.
Matebooks doesn't run in the cloud, so no third party holds your client list or invoice history. The few things it does need to store — like your Stripe key — are encrypted with Windows' own security, tied to your PC.
Encrypted credentials
Your Stripe key, email login tokens, and bank details are encrypted at rest using your operating system's own encryption — never written to disk as plain text.
You hold the data
Your database lives on your own machine, in a folder you choose. Export it, move it, back it up on your own terms — nobody else controls access to it.
Payments via Stripe
Card payments are handled entirely by Stripe's own secure checkout. Matebooks never sees, transmits, or stores a client's card details.
No direct access to your files or system
Every window runs with context isolation on and Node integration off, so the interface can never touch your filesystem or operating system directly — only the specific, limited actions the app itself exposes.
You choose what connects
Email sending and Stripe payments are both optional, off by default, and connected through your own accounts — Matebooks works fully offline without either.
